PTI Protests Sweep Pakistan Amid Allegations of Rigging and Leader’s Arrest

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) took to the streets on Friday, staging protests across the country. Their main grievances included allegations of widespread rigging in both general and by-elections, as well as demanding the release of their leader, Imran Khan, who is currently incarcerated.

Reports emerged of a police crackdown on PTI activists in parts of Punjab, with dozens reportedly arrested and raids conducted on their homes and offices to prevent their protests.

Despite the crackdown, PTI supporters rallied in Shahdara, Garden Town, and other areas of Lahore, demonstrating their determination to have their voices heard.

PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan spoke out against the authorities’ actions during an interaction with journalists in Islamabad. He alleged that the authorities had confiscated their sound system and chairs on the eve of the party’s 28th Foundation Day, further fueling their resolve to protest against perceived injustices.
