 Petitioner Seeks SC Probe into IHC Judges’ Letter on Spy Agency Interference

On Wednesday, Mian Dawood Advocate filed a constitutional plea in the Supreme Court, urging an open court investigation into a letter written by six judges of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) regarding alleged interference by spy agencies in the judiciary.

The letter, penned by the IHC judges on Tuesday, called on the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) to convene a judicial convention to address concerns about executive members, including intelligence operatives, meddling in judicial matters.In the petition, the advocate requested the apex court to establish an empowered commission and conduct a thorough probe, labeling the judges’ letter as a “premeditated plan.”The IHC judges who authored the letter to the SJC are Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani, Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, Justice Babar Sattar, Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan, Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir, and Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz.
