Veteran actor Surekha Sikri has passed away at the age of 75

DELHI, 16 July: Veteran actor Surekha Sikri has passed away at the age of 75 of a cardiac arrest. The actor was known for films such as Badhaai Ho and TV shows like Balika Vadhu. Bollywood celebs have mourned the loss.

National Award-winning actor Surekha Sikri has died in Mumbai of a cardiac arrest at the age of 75. The actor was ailing for a long time and had suffered two brain strokes in 2020 and 2018.

Actor’s manager confirmed the news, “Three-time national award winning actress, Surekha Sikri has passed away following a cardiac arrest earlier this morning at the age of 75.

She had been suffering from complications arising from a second brain stroke. She was surrounded by family and her caregivers. The family asks for privacy at this time. Om Sai Ram.”

Among those who mourned the loss were actors Manoj Bajpayee, Pooja Bhatt, Divyenndu and Divya Dutta.

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal also paid a tribute to her. “Heartfelt condolences on the demise of veteran actress Surekha Sikri ji. May God bless her soul,” he wrote on Twitter.
