SC starts hearing Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto case

ISLAMABAD: The much-awaited hearing on the Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto reference has begun, with a nine-member bench presided over by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa.

The Chief Justice will be accompanied by Justices Tariq Masood, Mansoor Ali Shah, and Yahya Afridi. The esteemed group of judges also includes Justices Aminuddin, Jamal Mandukhel, Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Hasan Azhar Rizvi, and Musrat Hilali.

Judicial assistants were asked to submit written arguments prior to today’s proceedings. Which helped to prepare the groundwork for extensive legal discussions. The Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader Sherry Rehman has expressed optimism and hope for a positive outcome. Demonstrating the significance of this hearing.

“As a party to the case, Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto attend today’s hearing in addition to our lawyers,” she stated.

Rehman expressed hopes for justice to served. And thoughtfully questioned the justice system’s impartiality in light of the case’s wider ramifications.

She made an implication about the party’s continued adherence to democracy. And the rule of law when she said, “The stain on the judiciary in the past will begin to washed away.”
