PTI may remove the stay order against the ECP, says Ali Zafar

In order to obtain a stay order from the Lahore High Court (LHC) against the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on the appointment of District Returning Officers (DROs) and Returning Officers (ROs) from the bureaucracy for the upcoming general elections, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has admitted that it was a mistake.

According to a Private news channel PTI senator Barrister Syed Ali Zafar stated. That the party can petition the LHC to have the stay order against the appointment of DROs and ROs for the upcoming election, which is scheduled for February 8, 2019, lifted.

“To expedite the case hearing on merits. And determine the outcome of DRO and RO appointments, the PTI may remove the stay order,” he said.
