Asif Ali Zardari, co-chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), has nominated Sarfraz Bugti for the position of Chief Minister of Balochistan. Bugti, who previously served as the interior minister in the caretaker setup, joined PPP shortly before the February 8 elections.

No other lawmaker has submitted nomination papers for the CM post in Balochistan as of now, according to sources. Zardari is expected to formally announce Bugti’s nomination in the coming days.
