PCB Eyes Gary Kirsten as Potential National Cricket Team Coach

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is actively pursuing a new coach for the national cricket team, with former South African player Gary Kirsten emerging as a leading contender. Following initial discussions with Mike Hesson and Shane Watson, Kirsten has become a focal point in PCB’s search.

Reports suggest that PCB has extended an offer to 56-year-old Kirsten for a long-term coaching position, with Kirsten requesting time to deliberate on the offer. Renowned for his coaching stints with the Indian and South African teams, Kirsten is considered one of the top candidates for the role.

In addition to Kirsten, PCB has also approached Luke Ronkey, the assistant coach of New Zealand, regarding the coaching vacancy. Ronkey is currently reviewing the offer and is expected to respond soon.
