PCB chief Naqvi breaks silence on his ‘major surgery’ remarks

No Hasty Decisions

Naqvi clarified his earlier “surgery” comments, stating that he doesn’t make decisions in anger and that accountability will be ensured for wrong decisions made by the selection committee.

Shan Masood to Continue as Test Captain

The PCB chief confirmed that Shan Masood will continue as Test captain, despite recent criticism. He revealed that he had a video call with Masood to discuss improvements in Test cricket and received positive feedback from former cricketers.

Wahab Riaz’s Role Re-defined

Naqvi also clarified Wahab Riaz’s role, stating that he was made a selector, not the chief selector. This move aims to strengthen the selection process and improve the team’s performance.

Upgradation of Stadiums

The PCB chairman emphasized the need for stadium upgradation to ensure top-notch facilities for the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan. With these changes, the PCB aims to revamp the Pakistan cricket team and restore its glory.
