 Pakistan Stock Exchange market grows despite uncertainty

KARACHI: After two days of declines, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) had a strong comeback at the beginning of the previous week. But, the index saw a sharp decline toward the end of the week, closing at 59,872.96 points on Friday after opening at 61,020.05 points on the benchmark KSE-100.

The stock market saw a sharp decline early on Monday, but by the afternoon it had erased its losses and was closing in the green. Building on Monday’s gains, today (Tuesday) saw a gain of over 750 points by midday.

Around noon, the benchmark KSE-100 index was observed to be hovering at 61,219.30 points, having opened at 60,459.74 points.

The fact that the index increased today across a number of sectors indicates that the stock market as a whole, rather than any one sector, was experiencing the positive momentum.
