DUBAI: In the fifth game of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Under-19s Asia Cup, Pakistan’s U19 team defeated India on Sunday at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai.
Pakistan chose to bowl first after winning the toss and restricting India to 259/9 in their allotted 50 overs. With four wickets, Mohammad Zeeshan spearheaded the bowling attack; Amir Hassan and Obaid Shah each took two wickets.
With eight wickets remaining in the chase, Pakistan successfully pursued the 260-run target thanks to a brilliant century from Azan Awais and fifty-twos from Shahzaib Khan and Saad Baig.
As the highly anticipated Test series between Pakistan and Australia draws near. Pakistan’s pace spearhead Shaheen Afridi has expressed his team’s determination to spoil David Warner’s farewell Test series.
Addressing the media ahead of their first practice session in Canberra on Sunday. Shaheen acknowledged Warner’s illustrious career but made it clear that Pakistan will not be extending any special favors to the retiring Australian opener.
“We would wish him good luck, but we are not hoping for a good end for David Warner in his last Test series against us,” Shaheen stated emphatically.
The left-arm fast bowler underlined the importance of this series for Pakistan. Who currently lead the World Test Championship points table.
