Omar Ayub Criticizes PM’s Reconciliation Offer, Calls for Release of Political Prisoners

PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub didn’t hold back in his criticism of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s reconciliation offer, branding it as “bogus” and dismissing his inaugural speech as “Zero by Zero”.

Ayub went on to demand the immediate release of all political detainees, including Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, stressing the importance of restoring their rights for fostering political stability.

The political arena is charged with tension as both sides engage in verbal exchanges, with accusations flying back and forth. All eyes are now on Parliament as the crucial decision regarding the opposition leadership looms large, with far-reaching implications for the country’s political landscape.

Meanwhile, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan highlighted the ongoing parliamentary session’s focus on traditional speeches, despite entering its fourth day.

Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Barrister Gohar hinted at today’s significance as the day when the opposition leader would be chosen in the National Assembly. When asked about his potential candidacy, he remained elusive, suggesting that the identity of the opposition leader would be revealed by the day’s end.

Drawing attention to the significant financial cost of parliamentary sessions, the PTI chairman revealed a daily expenditure of Rs65 million, raising concerns about the sessions’ efficiency and productivity.

In response to queries about the government’s tenure, he suggested that only time would provide the answer.
