Merab aims to train with Zuckerberg after UFC 298 victory

Merab Dvalishvili of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) hopes to train with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg in the future after the tech billionaire witnessed his victory over Henry Cejudo at UFC 298 this past weekend, according to a report from Daily Mail.

Following his victory on Saturday, the No. 3 ranked UFC bantamweight disclosed that he had communicated with Zuckerberg prior to UFC 298 in Anaheim, and that the founder of Facebook had apprised him of his intention to attend the fight.

“He texted me ahead of the fight to let me know he was coming; we follow each other on Instagram. “Don’t tell no one,” he warned me. Of course, I can maintain secrecy,” Dvalishvili remarked. “I knew he was there, and once I was walking out I saw him, of course, I said hello to him in person.”

The Georgian fighter also disclosed that he intends to train with Zuckerberg. Elon Musk, the owner of Tesla, made headlines for his martial arts training after challenging the 39-year-old tech mogul to an MMA bout.

“We [were] planning to train together and he got injured and he’s still recovering,” Dvalishvili said. “We will become more self-assured as training partners. I’ll have him in my corner once we have a mutual understanding of our [training] styles.”

“And no rush, because I’m here for [a] long time,” he continued. I’m only going to continue improving.”

In three rounds, Zuckerberg witnessed the 33-year-old professional fighter dominate former champion Cejudo. Additionally, the MMA fighter was observed conversing with Zuckerberg.

One special moment was when Zuckerberg, having also suit up. And joined Alexander Volkanovski’s corner for the main event, was carried across the Octagon by Dvalishvili. Who then slammed Cejudo in front of him.
