LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz filed a plea before Lahore High Court (LHC) for her passport as she intended to travel for Umrah in Ramazan.
As per details, Maryam Nawaz appealed to get her passport back as she wanted to visit her ailing father and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif besides performing Umrah.
The division bench including Justice Shahbaz Ali Rizvi and Justice Anwar ul Haq maintained that the bench couldn’t proceed and asked advocate Ahsan Bhoon to take the case to the bench that had previously granted bail to the PML-N vice president.
“The bench that granted bail to the petitioner should listen to the case,” the bench remarked.
Notably, in 2019, Maryam Nawaz was arrested by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. Later, LHC approved her bail plea and Maryam Nawaz had to submit her passport to the court.
