Maryam Nawaz Nominated as Punjab Chief Ministerial Candidate

According to Private news channel, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Captain (r) Muhammad Safdar declared on Wednesday that his wife Maryam Nawaz, the party’s vice president, is the group’s nominee for chief minister of Punjab.

Captain Safdar further stated that PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif will run in the next elections for a National Assembly (NA) seat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s NA-15 (Mansehra) after receiving a clean slate from the courts.

“Our NA-15 (Mansehra-II) candidate for election is going to be Nawaz sharif. In order to alleviate the deprivation in the province, he will take on the role of prime minister as an elected representative of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Safdar informed reporters outside the deputy commissioner’s Mansehra office.

Additionally, Safdar declared that he would present former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s nomination papers.

He went on to say that Amir Muqam, the leader of the PML-N, is the party’s nominee for chief minister of KP.

In addition, Captain Safdar stated that he intends to run for senator from NA-15 and will not be running in that race. He declared, “I will never turn down the party’s offer of a Senate ticket.”

Shehbaz Sharif, the president of the PML-N and a former prime minister, will present his nomination papers from the NA-123, PP-158, and PP-164 seats in Lahore.
