 KP closes primary, middle schools among heatwave

Peshawar, 14 June: All primary and center schools in both summer and winter zones of KP have been shut uncertainly due to a serious heatwave in the province.

Timings for optional and higher auxiliary classes (grades nine to 12) have been changed to 7 am to 10 pm. As indicated by a notice given by the KP Elementary and Secondary School Department.

Instructive foundations have been told to direct classes of just those subjects. That students are showing up for in tests this year.

District schooling officials will be liable for advising. The association boards in regards to regions with hot temperatures and play it safe.

The choice will be executed in both private and government-funded schools. The training office has encouraged students to cover their heads with caps, covers or umbrellas, and drink a lot of fluids/water.

Last week, 25 understudies at an administration-run school in Bara Kahu swooned as a result of a blackout. Following this, the timings of Islamabad schools were changed also.

Recently, the central government declared entomb and matric tests in the nation will start from July 10.

Due to heatwave, the Punjab Education Department has issued a notification for revised school timings for all the public and private schools, according to which they will now open from 7 AM to 11:30 AM.

The Provincial Minister for Education, Murad Raas, announced the new timings in a tweet.

He also requested everyone to follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the government.

The decision was taken in the aftermath of a number of incidents in public and private schools with children fainting due to heatwave. One sadly passed away in Lahore.
