Islamabad Implements Substantial Fee Hikes for Driving Licenses and Renewals

The Islamabad city administration has recently announced a significant hike in fees for driving licenses, learner permits, and renewals, eliciting immediate implementation according to a notification issued by the chief commissioner.

Residents seeking a six-month learner permit will encounter more than a doubling of fees, with costs soaring from Rs349 to Rs1,000. Similarly, non-professional license fees have surged from Rs1,800 to Rs3,000.

The most substantial increase is seen in the fees for professional licenses (LTV and HTV), which have skyrocketed from Rs2,100 to a staggering Rs10,000.

Additionally, the fees for obtaining a digital driving license card have been revised to Rs2,000, with renewal costs fixed at Rs2,000, and a three-year renewal now set at Rs3,000.

Furthermore, the restoration fee for a suspended license has undergone a significant hike, now standing at Rs20,000 according to the notification.

These adjustments mark a notable shift in the cost structure associated with driving licenses and related services in Islamabad, prompting residents to adapt to the revised fee schedule.
