Imran Khan, Qureshi’s bail in the cipher case was granted

ISLAMABAD: In the cipher case, the Supreme Court granted post-arrest bail applications for former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and vice-chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Friday.

The hearing was presided over by interim Chief Justice Sardar Tariq Masood. And was attended by Justices Mansoor Ali Shah and Athar Minallah.

The top court ordered both leaders to provide one million rupee surety bonds.

The Federal Investigation Agency’s charge sheet in the cipher case claims that Imran never returned a diplomatic document. The PTI has long maintained that the document was a threat to remove Imran from office as prime minister from the United States.

Imran Khan, the party’s founder and current chairman. Will run in at least three constituencies in the elections scheduled for February 8 of next year. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) declared on Wednesday.

Given that the election schedule has already been made public. PTI senator Ali Zafar informed reporters that the Islamabad High Court (IHC) will shortly make public its ruling in the Tosha Khan lawsuit against Imran Khan.

“We hope the IHC will announce its judgement in the Toshakhana case soon. As the election schedule has been issued,” he continued. “We want to inform you that Imran Khan will contest elections from at least three constituencies.” read more…..
