ICT Food Businesses Ordered to Obtain Licenses

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Food Authority (IFA) has directed food business dealers in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) to obtain a license to ensure the safety and cleanliness of food consumed by citizens.

According to ICT spokesman Dr Abdullah Tabassum, the directive, issued under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner of Operations Food, aimed to improve public health standards and ensure the quality of edibles in the region.

Food licenses are now issued to help businesses comply with the new regulations. Any entity involved in food-related activities, from production to distribution, must obtain this necessary license in order to operate legally. Failure to comply could result in penalties or the cessation of operations, he explained.

To facilitate the process, applicants need to visit the IFA office located at Multipurpose Sports Center, F-6 Markaz, Islamabad. The application requires two passport-sized photos, the original CNIC, and its photocopy. The initiative underscores the authority’s commitment to safeguarding public health and promoting hygienic food practices throughout the capital city.

Individuals are encouraged to visit the designated office during operating hours. If they have any further questions or require assistance.
