 Hasan Ali nominates for ICC Men’s “Player of the Month”

Dubai, 09 June: Pakistani right-arm pacer Hasan Ali has been nominated for International Cricket Council’s (ICC) “Player of the Month” award for the month of May after his recent spectacular performances in the series against South Africa and Zimbabwe.

Hasan Ali has managed to impress all with his fiery fast bowling and ability to bamboozle batsmen across the world.

The right-arm pacer, according to international media, is currently the leading wicket-taker in all formats of cricket in 2021.

The ICC announced the nominations to recognise the best performances from both male and female cricketers across all forms of international cricket on Tuesday.

The nominations for the men are:

Last month, the ICC had nominated Pakistani left-handed batsman Fakhar Zaman and skipper Babar Azam for the ‘Player of the Month’ award for April.

Sri Lanka’s player Praveen Jayawickrama and Bangladesh wicket-keeper batsman, Mushfiqur Rahim are the other two nominees for the player of the month award.

Sri Lankan player Jayawickrama played one Test against Bangladesh, picking up 11 wickets at an average of 16.11.

He led Sri Lanka to a victory in the second Test match against Bangladesh, registering the best match figures by a Sri Lankan player on debut.

Bangladesh wicket-keeper Mushfiqur, on the other hand played one Test match and three ODIs against Sri Lanka.

Mushfiqur scored a century in the second ODI and helped Bangladesh to a series victory against Sri Lanka, finishing as the highest run-scorer of the ODI series with 237 runs.
