The Pakistan Railways(PR) completed the relief operation at the accident site and restored the tracks. Final number of the dead would be released soon in Ghotki train crash.

According to the Pakistan Railways spokesperson, the final number of the dead and injured would be released soon in Ghotki train crash.

After the restoration of the Up track, train operation restarted with the run of Bahauddin Zakaria Express train. The work on the down track is underway which will be restored soon.

It is pertinent to mention here that Minister Railways Azam Khan Swati, Chairman Railway Habib-ur-Rehman Gilani and CEO Railways Nisar Ahmed Memon supervised the relief operation till its completion.

Remember, Two train have collided Sindh’s Ghotki and at least thirty two passengers were killed and more than sixty injured in accident.

According to Railways officials, Sir Syed Express collided with the Millat Express between Raiti and Obaro Railway stations and fourteen boggies derailed.

The Police sources said four boggies of Millat Express completely destroyed in the accident and the death toll is feared to rise.

Rescue operation continues at the site of accident and the injured are being shifted to hospitals.

Expected the toll to shoot up as there were still mangled train compartments that rescuers had not been able to access despite the passage of hours since the accident in Ghotki.

There were up to 25 people in one compartment yet to be accessed.

PM Imran Khan orders ‘comprehensive investigation’ into railways safety fault lines

Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed shock at the loss of lives from the Ghotki train accident and ordered a “comprehensive investigation” into it.

Taking to Twitter, the prime minister instructed Railways Minister Azam Swati to arrive at the site and help the injured with provision of medical assistance.
