WEBSITE DESK: The price of liquefied natural gas (RLNG) has increased. According to a notice released by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Friday.

The 10.11 percent increase has an effect on Pakistani gas users. Who are connected to Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC). And Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL).

According to the official communication. The price increase will result in a rise of $1.32 for SNGPL customers. And a rise of $1.42 for SSGC customers per Metric Million British Thermal Unit (MMBtu).

The revised prices, Therefore, are $15.45 for SSGC subscribers and $14.81 for SNGPL users.

This news follows a recent increase in electricity rates, which points to a general upward trend in utility costs.

Notably, with the caretaker government’s approval, Sui Northern Gas Company (SNGC) added fixed charges to the November bills.

Reputable sources state that customers who use 0.9 hectometers of gas. And fall under the protected category will pay a fixed monthly fee of Rs400.

Bills for unprotected users with consumption up to 1.5 hectameters will be enhanced by Rs 1,000. Even people who use no gas at all will still subject to fixed monthly fees of Rs 400.

It is projected that SNGC’s modification. Which takes the form of a fixed monthly tax. Will have a significant effect on a large number of consumers—roughly 8 million people.

The fluctuations in the prices of LNG and gas highlight the continuous difficulties that consumers encounter. In the context of a wider economic environment characterized by rising utility costs.
