Amir thanks CM Maryam Nawaz for intervention in PSL incident

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Amir thanked Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for intervening in a recent incident at a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match.

Previously, Amir accused Multan’s Deputy Commissioner of mistreating his family members at the stadium, claiming that they were unjustly removed, and asked Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to investigate the police misconduct.

Following his public complaint, Maryam Nawaz reportedly contacted Amir to discuss the situation.

Amir then took to Twitter to acknowledge that the Deputy Commissioner of Multan had resolved the misunderstanding, and he wished him the best. He also thanked the CM for her quick response.

This incident occurred on February 26th during a PSL match, when district administration officials allegedly removed the families of Mohammad Amir, Umar Amin, and Moin Khan from the players’ box.

The Quetta Gladiators’ players and management strongly condemned the incident, calling on the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to take action against such behavior.
